Features of PVC Signs
Rigid, flat, and lightweight
Our 1/8″ PVC board stays flat on the wall without curling or bowing like foam board. It’s light enough to hang with double-sided tape, so there’s no drilling required for most indoor spots.
A clean, finished look
PVC is solid white all the way through, so cut edges look crisp and clean with no frame needed. Full-color printing on a smooth surface keeps logos and photos sharp up close.
Made in the USA
These products are made in Broken Arrow, OK by a hardworking group of men and women just like you.
How to Design a PVC Sign That Looks Professional
Most PVC signs are read up close, in a hallway, at a counter, or across a room. That means people notice the details, so a clean layout matters as much as the message.
One message per sign. “Conference Room B” or “Employees Only.” A sign trying to say three things says none of them.
Size your text for the room. A common sign industry rule of thumb is about 1 inch of letter height for every 10 feet of viewing distance. A door sign read from 5 feet away can use smaller text, but a wall sign seen across a lobby needs bigger letters.
Go high contrast. Dark on light or light on dark. Light gray on white or navy on black gets lost under office lighting.
Match your brand. Indoor signs are part of your space’s look. Use your logo, brand colors, and fonts so every sign feels like it belongs.
Plan for how it mounts. Keep text and logos about ½″ inside the edges if you need screw holes or standoffs, so hardware doesn’t cut into your design. Tape-mounted signs can run edge to edge.

PVC Sign Size Guide
Size | Best for | Readable from about* |
|---|---|---|
6″ x 12″ | Door and room ID signs, desk and counter signs | 10–20 ft |
10″ x 14″ | Restroom, policy, and indoor safety notices | 15–25 ft |
12″ x 18″ | Office wall signs and retail promo signs. Most popular. | 25–40 ft |
18″ x 24″ | Menu boards, lobby signs, and trade show signs | 40–60 ft |
24″ x 24″ | Logo panels, directories, and wayfinding signs | 50–70 ft |
24″ x 36″ | Large wall displays, event signs, and store signage | 60–100 ft |
*These ranges assume the main text fills most of the sign. More text means smaller letters and a shorter reading distance.
Need a size not listed? Choose “Custom size” and we’ll cut your signs to any size. For larger signs, we recommend wall mounting so the panel stays flat.

PVC vs. Aluminum vs. Corrugated Plastic Signs
When you shop for plastic signs online, you’ll find a few very different materials. Here’s how they compare.
PVC (what we print) is a solid, rigid plastic board. It’s smooth, flat, and has a clean, professional finish. It’s the go-to for indoor signs and covered outdoor spots like entryways and patios.
Corrugated plastic (often called coroplast) is a hollow, fluted sheet, like plastic cardboard. It’s the cheapest option and is best for yard signs and short-term outdoor signs on wire stakes. It flexes easily and looks temporary up close.
Aluminum is the choice for signs that live outdoors for years. Our custom aluminum signs are solid .040″ metal that won’t rust, warp, or crack in the sun.
PVC | Corrugated plastic | Aluminum | |
|---|---|---|---|
Best for | Indoor and covered outdoor | Temporary yard signs | Long-term outdoor |
Look | Smooth, rigid, professional | Fluted, flexible | Smooth, rigid, metal |
Full-sun durability | Can warp over time | Short-term | Years |
Mounting | Tape, screws, standoffs | Wire stakes, zip ties | Screws, bolts, rivets |
For offices, retail, and anywhere out of full sun, PVC gives you the best look for the price.
FAQs for Custom PVC Signs
Ours are printed on 1/8″ (3mm) PVC board, a rigid, lightweight plastic that’s solid white all the way through. It’s often sold under the brand name Sintra.
Sintra is a well-known brand of expanded PVC board, and sign shops often use the name for any PVC sign. A Sintra sign and a PVC sign are the same type of product.
Yes, in covered or shaded spots like entryways, patios, and under awnings. In full sun and heat, PVC can warp over time. For signs that stay outdoors for years, choose our custom aluminum signs.
Not exactly. “Plastic signs” can mean PVC, corrugated plastic, or acrylic. PVC is solid and rigid with a clean finish. Corrugated plastic is hollow and meant for yard signs. Acrylic is glossy and more expensive.
12″ x 18″ is the most common size for office, wall, and retail signs. 6″ x 12″ is standard for door and room signs.
