How to Design a Fence Sign That Gets Calls
Your fence sign is read from the sidewalk or a passing car, usually in a few seconds. The best-performing fence contractor signs keep it simple.
Make the phone number big. It’s the one thing people need to act. Give it the largest type on the sign after your logo.
Use your logo, not a paragraph. Company name, logo, phone, and website is plenty. Skip service lists and slogans that shrink everything else.
Go high contrast. Dark text on a light background (or the reverse) reads from the street. Light gray on white does not.
Add your license number if your state requires it. Some states require contractor license numbers on job signage. A small line at the bottom covers you.

Our fence signs are printed on .040″ aluminum with a white baked enamel finish. Aluminum won’t rust or rot, which makes it the standard material for fence advertising signs.
4″ x 8″ is our most popular size for residential fences. It’s readable from the street without overpowering the fence. Larger sizes work well for commercial or farm fencing viewed from farther away.
Every sign comes with pre-drilled holes. Use screws or nails on wood, zip ties or wire on chain link, and self-tapping screws or rivets on metal fencing. Mounting hardware is not included.
With outdoor-rated inks and a UV laminate, our fence signs are built to last 5-7 years outdoors. Sun exposure and climate affect lifespan, but aluminum itself won’t rust, rot, or warp.
Many fence tags are printed on thinner .024″ aluminum, which can bend or dent during install and in high winds. .040″ holds its shape so your sign stays flat and readable on the fence.
